In an absolutely exceptional situation, we took over the interim management of the e-commerce and digital division of a market leader in the home and living segment. Through quick analysis, targeted optimization measures and the gradual introduction of new processes, the team worked with us to revolutionize the company's online presence and online marketing.
The requirements in e-commerce are diverse and complex. Our task was to record the status quo of the organization and departmental structure and to examine all service providers, tools and ongoing projects. After thoroughly assessing the performance of the area, we identified key improvement measures.
Our package of measures included reporting, performance marketing, content management, social media marketing as well as product management and IT, and led to the implementation of a new operating model and a reassessment of the division of tasks between internal resources and external partners. This model included the construction of a digital hub in Berlin and the introduction of the Scayle / About You Cloud e-commerce solution in the SaaS model. We streamlined the service provider landscape, recruited selected experts and established a completely new organizational structure. Finally, we handed the operational area over to the newly formed management team.
The result was a significant increase in sales and profitability while simultaneously reducing the business unit's total cost of ownership.
